OK, you can’t skip every meeting, but many need a makeover. And we all know that 2020 is the year of the meeting. Yikes!

Arvind Krishna, CEO for IBM, just shared his tips about how to reduce meeting overload:

  • 4–5 people are optimal. More than 10 people is too much. And, you must clearly document the goals and the outcomes from the meetings: Slack, emails, and webpages.
  • Preparation: agendas, goals, and pre-work make the meeting go faster. Don’t make meetings about the pitch. Instead make the meeting about decision making and creation.
  • Squeeze the most out of the minutes in each meeting. (See agenda and out comes above.)
